Enrollment, Registration & Fees

Welcome to Gilbert

Every Student. Every Day.

Gilbert Schools is thrilled to welcome your student(s) and family to our district. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to help your child or children learn, grow, and achieve success.

Existing/Current Gilbert Students

Gilbert Schoolsโ€™ Online Registration/Renewal for the 2024-25 school year is open.

All families of current students must renew their studentโ€™s information each year. This annual renewal is accessed via the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Once in the portal, go to โ€œMore,โ€ followed by โ€œOnline Registration.โ€

It is required, by the first day of school, that you complete this update so that we have your studentโ€™s most recent emergency contact and health information.

Existing families may also add a new student via the parent portal.

Please email District Registrar (registrar@gilbertcsd.org.staging3.juiceboxint.com), or call 515-232-3740 with questions.

New Students

Welcome to the Gilbert Community School District. In this section, we will provide information on how first-time students can register.

The following is needed to complete registration:

  • Your childโ€™s proof of age.
  • Immunization records.
  • Current IEP or 504 Plan or Talented & Gifted information (if applicable).
  • Unofficial transcript of grades (for high school students) upon enrollment.

Once you have registered your student(s), enrollment will be pending until all documents are provided. You will receive an email once this process has been.

Please contact District Registrar (registrar@gilbertcsd.org.staging3.juiceboxint.com) at the district office at 515-232-3740 if you need assistance or have any questions.

Proof of Residency

If you are new to our district, please be prepared to provide proof of residency showing your name and district address. Please provide the appropriate documentation to the Registrar prior to your studentโ€™s first day of school at Gilbert. Failure to do so may delay your studentโ€™s enrollment.

You may be asked to provide one or more of the following:

  • Homeowners purchase agreement/closing document.
  • Statement from your mortgage company.
  • Current utility bill mailed to you at your residence (gas, electric, water).
  • Copy of the lease/rental agreement.

Proof of Child’s Age

Proof of age is required for all new students to Gilbert. In Iowa, a child must be five years old on or before September 15th of the year he or she starts school in order to enroll in kindergarten. Proof of age is requested at Kindergarten Roundup and required prior to the start of school.

  • A birth certificate.
  • A passport.
  • A certificate obtained from the county where the child was born.

Current Immunizations/Health Forms

Immunization records are required.

Iowa Law requires that a parent or guardian of children enrolling in kindergarten provide proof of a dental screening to their school.

Open Enrollment

Looking to open enroll into the Gilbert Community School District? We are currently taking applications for the 2026-27 school year. We encourage you to fill out the open enrollment application and return it to our Registrar by March 2, 2026. Families will be notified of their application status after the March School Board Meeting.

Please know, open enrollment is limited and only available if class sizes allow.

In order for a student to enroll into the Gilbert School District, a student must be a district resident on the first day of the school year or on the date the student first attends school (if after the designated first day of the school year). The residency of a student is determined by physical presence for a primary purpose unrelated to school. The home a student is living in determines the residence.

Please be aware of the following:

  • A mailing address does not constitute residency.
  • An apartment or house rented for the purpose of attending school does not establish residency.
  • In the case of shared custody, parents/guardians must designate one district of residence.
  • The rule of thumb is that residency is determined by where the child sleeps most nights of the week.

Home Schooled Students/Dual Enrolled

All homeschooled students will need to fill out a CPI/Form A (PDF) and return to the district office. Please contact Mackenzie Hopkins (hopkinsm@gilbertcsd.org.staging3.juiceboxint.com), our Home School Assistance Program Coordinator.

If you need to use a computer or need any help during the registration process, please call the Gilbert District Office at 515-232-3740 to make an appointment.
