Building for our Future
Gilbert Schools could not be more excited about the future of the district. With 83 percent community support for our bond referendum in November of 2023, we are thrilled to be moving forward with new facilities throughout the district over the next few years.
June, 2025 Video Update
We have another video update for you regarding our current construction projects at Gilbert Elementary, Gilbert High School, Gilbert Middle School, and at the site of our new Gilbert District Office.
MAY, 2025 VIDEO UPDATE
Construction continues around the district and we wanted to give our stakeholders an update on where things stand at Gilbert Elementary, Gilbert High School, and Gilbert Middle School with the new practice track.

Elementary School
Gilbert Schools held its official ground breaking ceremony at the site of its new elementary building in early September of 2024.
The new Gilbert Elementary is scheduled to be completed in late spring or early summer of 2026 with the goal of opening to students at the start of the 2026-27 school year.
CMBA Architects designed the new Gilbert Elementary, and Denovo is serving as the construction manager for the project.

Middle School
SECURED ENTRANCE
In the spring of 2024, construction began on a new secured entrance at Gilbert Middle School. The project was completed in early November of 2024.
The new secured entrance allows school staff to vet all visitors prior to granting them access to the building. It also includes several new offices.
PRACTICE TRACK
Construction of a new six-lane practice track to be used by our middle school track and field student-athletes will begin in the spring of 2025. It is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2025.
This new track, which will have the ability to be expanded in the future if necessary, will be located in the large grassy lot located to the north of Gilbert Middle School.
HIGH SCHOOL
Construction on a variety of new and exciting projects at Gilbert High School is scheduled to begin in mid-March, 2025. Those projects and anticipated completion dates include:
- The renovation of science classrooms (Estimated Completion: December of 2025).
- The addition of five new classrooms that will be located on the northwest corner of the building (Estimated Completion: August of 2026).
- A new auxiliary gymnasium that will be located on the east side of the building (Estimated Completion: August of 2026).
- Two new locker rooms and a new athletic training room for the treatment of student-athletes near the auxiliary gymnasium (Estimated Completion: August of 2026).
- New turf installation at Tiger Stadium (Estimated Completion: Summer of 2025).
Mobilization of equipment will begin in early spring of 2025, with dirt work and outside construction taking place while school is in session.
BUILDING TOUR: NOVEMBER, 2025
DISTRICT OFFICE
The Gilbert Community School District purchased the property located at 200 E. Mathews Dr. in Gilbert for the purposes of a new district office.
Renovations to the building began in the summer of 2025 and are scheduled to be completed in early 2026. The District Office is currently scheduled to be occupied in late January, 2026.
