About this Event
YWCA Girls Power is a mentorship program that pairs middle school girls with college-aged mentors from ISU. Our mentors volunteer to create a welcoming and inviting environment that enables our middle school girls to build confidence, make friends, and feel at ease. Our program is designed to educate our girls on important topics, such as mental health, healthy relationships, and self-defense, while incorporating fun activities like rock climbing or ice skating at reduced rates. Our club is open to girls and often offers snacks or refreshments.
We hold events biweekly on Sundays. Most meetings take place at Ames Public Library from 3:00 to 4:30. Reach out if you’re interested in learning more about our schedule and the fun meetings we have coming up, including our Valentine’s Party, ice skating, STEM Day, self-defense, nutrition, and more.
